HOW TO GET YOUR BUSINESS BOOMING Guest Blog Post By Zdenka Sciacca Stories are captivating, and most people are usually interested in the characters for different reasons. While others easily relate with the protagonist, others are rooting for the antagonist. Regardless of the side of the fence you are sitting on, an interesting story usually catches the interest of people and retains their attention until the end. The brief illustration above shows how powerful storytelling can be particularly when done the right way. Storytelling is not only synonymous with novels and memoirs as businesses are beginning to realize the great potential inherent in this form of art. The art of storytelling is particularly helpful in content marketing campaigns and at Boomshare, we have realized this fact and put together ways of getting your business booming with storytelling. We look at the storytelling art as it relates to businesses and how it can be used by businesses to promote their brand. What Makes Your Story Great? A good story should be able to take the reader through the different stages, allowing the reader to relate easily with the events and characters of the story. A great story also has a main character with the major happenings revolving around him or her. The main character endures the most throughout the story and can be said to be the hero of the tale. WHAT IS YOUR UNIQUE FLAVOUR? Guest Blog Post By Sharni-Marie Barney Your business is as unique as you are. You created it. You transformed it. It evolved out of your own ideas, and the energy of the team of people who work for you. Your customer service has its own unique personality. Your product range is a reflection of your own perspectives and tastes. The creation of your new application has developed from a seed concept that was birthed from your own life journey, your frustration, your conversations and the extent of your knowledge of the world around you. No one else has walked in your shoes. What you bring to the table, only you can. It doesn’t matter if there are 300 other companies who claim to offer what you do – they won’t be doing it the way you do. Feeling good? You should be. But here’s the kicker: No body cares about YOUR business While you are wrapped up in the world of your own creation, the rest of society is buzzing around you in their own little worlds and they haven’t noticed you at all. To them, you are just another business. Another shop front. Another web application. And therein lies the great divide. The big disconnect. The only time they will come mildly close to caring about your business is when they want something from you. Human Nature & The Buying Process There are two aspects of human nature that you should be very aware of at this point. (1) Humans are inherently lazy. Our first response to a need...

STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD Increase Your Social Media Influence!! Google is constantly updating its search algorithms. This leaves many entrepreneurs and businesses struggling to keep up with the latest SEO tactics. The latest change looks at social approval signals such as “Likes” and “Shares” to increase your page rank. This means your success in reaching the coveted first page of a Google search involves building your social media presence. Social Media Influence is a marketing term used not only to improve your Google ranking but also to determine how affective you are on the most common social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. You can use this information to get your brand recognised and become a thought leader in your niche. Your goal for each content piece is to convince the reader to take action. You need to encourage actual engagement and not just shares or retweets. No matter how many people know about you, if they don’t follow through with action all your hard work is useless. Get people interested in what you offer and actually engage with you. Before you write (or speak) the first word, decide what your call to action is. What Do You Want To Accomplish? Do you simply want to build credibility in your niche or do you want to make a sale? Another goal may be to engage in test marketing to get feedback on your services from your target market. You can actually use different social media outlets to get discussions started on your topic of interest. Base your content on what you are trying...
