SHOWCASE YOUR BLOG CONTENT

Showcase Your Blog Content In 4 Steps Guest Blog Post By Stephanie Ward Recently I visited a blog I was curious about and wanted to see what kind of juicy tips I could pick up. But there were no categories to choose from and only one post was visible on the main blog page. There were no suggestions for posts similar to the one that was featured. And there wasn’t a collection of the most popular content. There were links underneath the one post that was showing for ‘older’ and ‘newer’ posts which is a smart move. Some people might be curious enough to click on one of those but it’s not likely. This is because our time is so precious that unless we know for sure that we’re going to get something we need, we can’t be bothered to sacrifice the time. And yes, there was a search box. But if you don’t know what you’re looking for, it doesn’t help. With blog posts, it’s often the case that you don’t know what you want until you see it. So what can you do? Let me hook you up with 4 ideas. (1) Feature the Categories of Your Blog   You don’t have to show all of your categories, simply select the ones that are most significant to your audience. Check out this option. (2) Display More than One Blog Post on Your Main Blog Page   There are many options to choose from here. You can show one full post and partial views of several others. You can show only the titles of many posts. Go to the...
THE POWER OF STRATEGIC ALLIANCES

THE POWER OF STRATEGIC ALLIANCES

THE POWER OF STRATEGIC ALLIANCES Guest Blog Post By Stephanie Ward  One of the most effective ways to market your products or services is to create strategic alliances. Strategic alliances are partnerships with companies who sell to a client base similar to yours but they sell different products and services. The idea is to find partners whose clients may also be interested in your products/services. Many times people will casually agree to spread the word about each other’s products and services. This is the idea of ‘you send me clients and I will send you clients.’ But this approach is rarely effective and here’s why.   Why Casual Agreements Don’t Work   (1) The agreement is vague and undefined. (2) One or both people may not fully understand what the other does. (3) People are busy and forget. (4) Both people may be waiting to ‘get something’ first before they get into action to help the other. (5) One person may be more interested than the other. (6) There may be a higher value for one person than the other. To eliminate all of these issues, simply create a specific offer for potential strategic alliance partners. Offer to give something to your partners for every person they refer to you who ends up purchasing your products or services. This can be a percentage of your fee or total purchase, some of your products or services, or something else you mutually agree upon. The motivation for partners to send you clients isn’t only about what they will get in return. It is just a way to thank them for their...

RECYCLE YOUR CONTENT

RECYCLE YOUR CONTENT A Guest Blog Post By Stephanie Ward!! As a business owner you’ve worked hard to create fabulous content that rocks & you will continue to do so going forward. That doesn’t mean however that all of your previous work can’t continue to be utilized and shared with your community.  Don’t ignore your previous content, it’s extremely valuable. Just make sure it’s the best it can be and that it is organized. Let’s see how the three R’s of sustainability can be applied to your marketing. Reduce   Eliminating content that is not relevant and reorganizing what remains will improve your visitors’ experience when they visit your website. Here are some suggestions to get you started. Get rid of outdated information on your website. Do you still have information on your website about an event that has already happened? Remove it. What about posts that are no longer relevant? Get rid of them. Is your website’s sidebar too cluttered? Take a hard look and make sure that all of the elements are valuable. Delete anything that is not compelling for your visitors. While you’re reviewing your sidebar this is a great time to make sure the elements are in the most effective order. It could be time to rearrange them. The most important element should be at the top of your sidebar. I hope that this is where you have your offer for your valuable free giveaway and ezine. The search box should always be the last element in your sidebar. Reuse   Think about how you can take content on your website and convert it into additional...
