SOCIAL MEDIA SHOWCASE Some Highlights By Guest Blogger Courtney Crawford www.QueenstownToKaikoura.com PERCEPTIONS BEFORE THE CONFERENCE Growing up in the 21st Century, I never really gave much thought to the sudden adaptation to new technology as it went from brick phone used solely for ringing landlines and any other “mobile” phones… at best, texting and the snake game became available. To the modern day technology like the go-pro, the Samsung S7, the I-phone 5S and software apps that can be used on computers and mobile phones. Technology constantly seems to change from a monthly to a yearly basis on a variety forms of hardware and software. The onslaught of what is available can almost seem to be overwhelming. And because of this, it has become the social norm to take each change in stride as it occurs and adopt it to how we use the technology without giving much thought in how we can strategically use social media for the sake of innovation and reaching out to other communities or organisations. There seems to be a broad general understanding of the purpose behind Facebook, Instagram, twitter, YouTube, and snapchat as we have been left to figure out how the technology and social media operates on our own. Even with the curiosity of learning how to use all of the new technology and social media platforms; they have been designed to allow users to embrace it to meet the user’s needs and interests. As a result of this, users such as myself, have ended up using Facebook, twitter and Instagram as a form of personal gallery to share our...

TWITTER MAGIC 123 Growth Hacking Your Twitter Marketing!! Recently, I have been playing around with a new growth hacking formula I call: “TWITTER MAGIC 123” (1) Follow First (2) Follow Back (3) Follow Up Here is an interview I did with Melbourne writer Sarah Cannata about how this simple formula sky rocketed her on-line success in less than 4 weeks. AMAZING STUFF!! TWITTER MAGIC 123 ((Downloadable PDF)) This podcast is part of a 4 part series I recorded with Sarah recently. www.Twitter4Writers.com Sarah Cannata (@CannataAU) Hey, this is professional writer, Sarah Cannata, and welcome to the Twitter Write podcast. Before I go any further, let me introduce you to global Twitter marketing specialist, Keith Keller. Keith, welcome. Keith Keller (@KeithKeller) “TWITTER MAGIC 123” ((The Full Interview)) Hey! Look, it’s been almost a month, you know, since we had our last podcast. And I don’t believe how much you’ve achieved in 4 weeks. It’s less than 4 weeks. And I think you had at that time 265 followers. You hadn’t done that already awesome article with Kaz, which went viral. You’re up to 900 followers now. You’re gonna crack a thousand in less than 6 weeks. And this stuff is working. It’s so exciting. Sarah: I mean, it definitely is. The kind of numbers that I’m reaching 6 weeks after we first started chatting, I mean, a month— it’s only been a month since you’ve been away and some of the stats and the numbers that we’ve got pretty much proves that what we’re doing here is working. So, I mean, I’ll run...

“INBOUND VERSUS OUTBOUND MARKETING” Powerful Reasons To Start Creating Content Guest Blog Post By Aroa Vargas Inbound marketing is a strategy that is designed to attract potential customers to your company by “CREATING COMPELLING CONTENT” Sending potential customers to invasive advertising stopped working long time ago. Inbound marketing is based more on creating a strategy that makes content the star of the show!! It comminicates through social networks and generates traffic that allows users to interact with the brand. Moreover, same users fall in love with the brand. You can imagine what companies realized when Inbound marketing arrived to stay. Actually Inbound marketing has been doing before.; It was just called content marketing strategy. The content must be relevant to the target audience. The content should get the engagement that makes a potential customer be interested in the brand. Conventional advertising was OUT when customers began having a more active role. The brand no longer who seeks the customer, the customer seeks the brand. The new marketing generates content using any type of media (and if is neccessary invent them) in order to reach the consumer. Especially, the new advertising is different from conventional advertising because, after any other reason, advertising market has become into entertainment. Outbound marketing is the traditional (and arguably outdated) marketing style. This is the view of marketing where communication is unidirectional and the brand seeks clients through advertising and speaking “AT” them, rather than “WITH” them. INBOUND MARKETING VERSUS OUTBOUND MARKETING A QUICK COMPARISION!! How Aroa Vargas Describes Herself!! http://atreveteconelmarketing.es/english/ (English) http://atreveteconelmarketing.es/sobre-mi/ (Spanish) When I started the university I already knew how much I loved Marketing, for this reason,...

“P.R.I.S.M” Monetising Your Marketing Guest Blog Post By Ian Cleary PEOPLE You will hear a lot of people saying that the number of fans/followers doesn’t really matter but it actually does! It matters if you are building a relevant audience. If you’ve got a relevant, growing audience of fans/followers it makes sense that you will get more eyeballs on your content which will result in more clicks and more website visits. Our traffic from Twitter increased by over 100% when we implemented tactics for growing our following. The revenue on social comes mainly comes from sales on your website and relationships that turn into sales. You can’t do either without building a relevant audience. If you want to do an analysis of your followers go to analytics. Twitter.com and you’ll see a breakdown similar to the following: To build a good audience you need to be attracting the right type of people with the right type of content. If you have a good profile audience but poor engagement you are providing the wrong type of content. If you get great engagement but you’re attracting the wrong audience you won’t be able to mobilize this audience into action. RELATIONSHIPS Yes, on social you need to be social! You need to share your content and also other people’s content. As you share more of other people’s content they will start sharing yours. As you engage with more people they will engage more with you. This leads to more engagement with your content which leads to more traffic. They are all linked! One good way of building...

“TWITTER WRITE” (Twitter Tips 4 Writers) IS TWITTER A POWERFUL MARKETING TOOL FOR WRITERS? ABSOLUTELY!! I am sooooo excited to announce that Twitter Write is up & running!! I’m passionate about showing people, and in particular writers, how they can use Twitter to stand out from the crowd. Sarah Cannata and I connected in April and immediately saw a real synergy in what each us are doing. As for Sarah, she’s like many writers out there. She’s awesome but she’s competing in a world full of awesome people. It’s not easy to stand out from the crowd and to this day, I’m still gobsmacked as to how many people aren’t aware and taking full advantage of the power of Twitter – The Information Network. Take Sarah – After speaking with her, here’s what I gathered: She knows a little about Twitter marketing and has used it as part of her corporate career, but I quickly caught on she wasn’t aware of how it could see her raising her profile and exposing her writing to the world on another level. I’ve been there, done that and it occurred to me while speaking with Sarah that I’ve never really talked about my story. Sarah has shared it via her latest Huffington Post article but it’s never been something I’ve ‘put out there for the world to see’. I love hearing and sharing other people’s stories, but what about my own? Once upon a time, I had a 9am to 5pm job that helped to pay off the mortgage and put food on the table. But I was miserable. So on my 40th...
