TIK TOK 101: COMPELLING REASONS TO START USING TIK TOK IN 2020

TIK TOK 101 COMPELLING REASONS TO START USING TIK TOK IN 2020 A guest blog post by Pix Jonasson (#ThePixFactor)     There are many reasons people use one of the newest social media platforms Tik Tok. If you haven’t heard of it yet, TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video. Their mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. …… and it certainly works for me. It’s big business already as TikTok has global offices including Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore, Jakarta, Seoul and Tokyo. I use it for the following reasons:   (1)  Personally (2) Professionally (3) Purely For Fun     (1) Personally   I’d heard of TikTok previously and knew that @GaryVee uses it. So I thought if it’s good enough for him, it’s damn well good enough for me! My late Dad, Brian, drummed “Communication” into me as I was growing up. So that’s exactly what I do via written and spoken words, using articles, posts, interviews, podcasts, presentations, audio and video to name a few. My social media modalities are Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. And now…enter TikTok. I see it as another platform to develop my personal brand. Bear in mind that your personal brand IS part of your professional brand too. I say that how you do anything is how you do everything. So personally for me, TikTok is still about me and sharing my journey, my life, my business, my passions, my message.   (2) Professionally   I am a huge advocate for Healthy Living Inside and Out with a strong focus on mental...
SOCIAL VIDEO 101: GETTING STARTED

SOCIAL VIDEO 101: GETTING STARTED

SOCIAL VIDEO 101: GETTING STARTED A Guest Blog Post By Patrick Bailey     If you want to market your business, there are many ways to do it. Video marketing is one of the most popular marketing tools. Hundreds of millions of people are participating in video marketing on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and even Linkedin.  The popularity of such tools is not a surprise. Videos are easy for people to process. …. but there are warnings. If you do not know what you are doing, video marketing may be difficult to create. The good news is, there are tips to help you start video marketing.    (1) MAKE A PLAN   Whether you are doing a video how to get pregnant, how to stop using drugs, or how to train a dog, it is important to make a plan. Before you jump into video marketing, this plan may help you tie everything together.  You may want to create a plan that includes the types of videos you will make, the proposed titles for the videos, the descriptions of the videos, and the dates when you will post the videos. You will want to track the metrics (measurements) for each of your videos. So, in your plan, be sure to track the growth from each video, such as the numbers of likes and comments that you have received. Recording this information may help you determine which components in your plan are working and which components are not working. Your plan should also include lists of the platforms you plan to post your videos to. (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, etc)...
SOCIAL VIDEO IS HERE TO STAY

SOCIAL VIDEO IS HERE TO STAY

SOCIAL VIDEO IS HERE TO STAY A Guest Blog Post By Brooklin Nash Social media marketing has shifted again and again over the past few years. It’s important to stay on top of the trends!! One trend that has developed over the past few years is the importance of video content. This is particularly important for brands looking to engage with their audience. Social video has become a great way for companies to expand both their reach and their engagement. Short videos are easily shared and quickly consumed. This means that brands no longer have to ask for a big chunk of time to get their message across. The trend itself has shifted several times in as many years. To help you stay on top of the latest changes, here are three social video trends for 2018 to watch out for. Trend #1: Live Video Content Will Drive More Engagement Live video will only continue to grow in popularity. In fact, one poll found that 82% of consumers prefered live video over any other kind of content. This is beneficial to both customers and companies for one important reason: engagement. Live video offers customers the ability to interact more directly with brands and companies in real time. They can also engage with other customers. At the same time, brands have a unique opportunity. Facebook Live Video and Instagram stories have a smaller reach, but they also have a sense of urgency. It’s the urgency that makes viewers 12 times more likely to share video than any other kind of content. Trend #2: Separating Brand Media from Social Friends &...
7 SOCIAL VIDEO TRENDS DEFINITELY WORTH EXPLORING

7 SOCIAL VIDEO TRENDS DEFINITELY WORTH EXPLORING

7 SOCIAL VIDEO TRENDS DEFINITELY WORTH EXPLORING A Guest Blog Post By Jay Egger       Any company looking to connect with a broader audience and increase engagement among their existing customers needs to delve deeply into the world of social video.   That’s because social video generates 1200 percent more shares than text and images combined. Video generates more leads, more sales, and sticks in people’s brains longer than text. Basically, the internet is becoming all about video, and social video in particular. A social video is a specific kind of video content, tailored for the social media age. It’s a short, targeted piece that is meant to be shared around networks like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter—and it doesn’t reek of marketing or advertising. It’s a story, or artistic endeavor, that just so happens to build up feelings of goodwill towards your brand, or give you an excuse to link to other forms of content or pages on your site. Achieving that equilibrium of “marketing, but not marketing” is tough, and figuring out how to give your video traction on social networks is even tougher. In order to create the best social video content you can, explore these trends in the space and see if you can better tailor your videos for the internet of today and tomorrow.   (1) Optimize Your Social Video For Different Channels   Social video is not one size fits all. What works on Facebook may not work as well on Twitter, or on Instagram, for a couple of reasons. One of the reasons for that is length (which we’ll talk more about...
A BRIEF HISTORY OF SOCIAL VIDEO MARKETING

A BRIEF HISTORY OF SOCIAL VIDEO MARKETING

A BRIEF HISTORY OF SOCIAL VIDEO MARKETING A guest blog post by Josh Wardini     Back when the very first video was launched online in 1994, nobody had any idea that it was going to become a powerful tool in marketing. Seeing that everything has become more and more digitized over the last couple of decades has also brought innovation to the world of marketing. These days, video marketing is a popular approach for content creation that is relevant, personal and can even leave a trace in the memory of an audience. Although the goal for most marketers nowadays is to make their videos go viral, it should never be the objective of a video marketing campaign.   How it all began!!   The very first video sharing website was started by Chase Norlin in 1997. The website allowed its users to upload files in different video file formats and to share those videos. Unfortunately, the website was plagued with different problems, mainly because the internet technology was not advanced enough. Eventually, in 2001, the website closed down due to bandwidth and financial problems. Three years later may not seem like such a long time in real life, but in internet time, where everything is changing each millisecond, this feels like an eternity. So, it would be a long while until the next popular video sharing platform would end up online. Thus, Vimeo was founded. …. and later, YouTube.   The beginnings of popular video sharing platforms   Jake Lodwick and Zach Klein founded Vimeo in November 2004, three years after the first popular video sharing website closed...
WHY THE FUTURE OF MARKETING IS VIDEO CONTENT

WHY THE FUTURE OF MARKETING IS VIDEO CONTENT

WHY THE FUTURE OF MARKETING IS VIDEO  A Guest Blog Post By Kassiani Cheirogergou @Kassiani_cheir     According to The Digital Marketing Institute, we live in the video decade and we are only at the beginning. Social media platforms, such as Facebook Live, Instagram Stories, and Snapchat have made it so easy for every single one of us to start watching and creating videos in the click of a button. Technology has been responding to consumer’s needs for faster internet and better quality videos, making video content the number one marketing tool in a marketing strategy.   Why video marketing is the future of content marketing?   According to Cisco’s forecast report released in September 2017, the trend of video marketing is growing and it is a must in everyone’s marketing strategy. The following stats are very impressive and demonstrate how the current use of video marketing is being forecasted and how it will be shaped by 2021.   Video traffic will be 82% of all consumer Internet traffic by 2021. By 2021 it would take an individual more than 5 million years to watch the number of videos that will cross global IP networks each month. Every second, a million minutes of video content will cross the network by 2021. Live video will account for 13% of Internet video traffic. Internet video compared to TV grew 50% in 2016, and it will continue to grow by another 26% by 2021.   Based on the above forecast it is obvious that if you haven’t already started your video marketing journey then 2018 will have to be the year to make...

(@KeithKeller) January 24, 2018   Content Creation Versus Content Curation (Video)        The whole world is buzzing about Content Marketing - producing great new content to keep you and your brand visible and “top of mind”. For anyone who has a major competitor that spends thousands of dollars creating gorgeous new content every couple of hours, you’ll understand just how impossible content marketing can seem. We have a client with a specialist hair salon. She is a small business competing against a very large prestigious salon in an exclusive suburb that employs a dozen hairdressers. Not only does her rival have a salon in Melbourne, they also have salons in other capital cities too. Online her competitor is the industry leader. For our client, her competitor out publishes her in Content Marketing every time in every channel. So instead of focusing on content creation to keep pace with her competitor, we’ve begun to aggregate and curate other people’s content. Injecting that into her Twitter stream. Watching for content already in circulation that will keep her audience engaged, and that best fits her business goals.   The value of aggregating & curating content   (1) You are perceived to be relevant and up-to-date in all areas of your industry When it takes you a long time to create your own content, you’ll always be out of...
“ONCE UPON A TIME” WHY STORYTELLING IS VITALLY IMPORTANT TO MARKETERS

“ONCE UPON A TIME” WHY STORYTELLING IS VITALLY IMPORTANT TO MARKETERS

“ONCE UPON A TIME” WHY STORYTELLING IS VITALLY IMPORTANT TO MARKETERS Guest Blog Post By Fabrice Briatte (Montreal)   FRENCH TRANSLATION ALSO AVAILABLE    Once upon a time, there was a world where people didn’t watch TV any more. There was a world where people used adblockers when they go to the Internet. People wanted brands to talk to them only when they needed it. Marketers couldn’t attract attention by disturbing them anymore. But there was a little fairy full of emotions called ‘Storytelling’ that could help marketers. Here is her story 😉     Micro Moments Are Changing The Rules   The importance of moments   Our life is made up of micro-moments. These micro-moments are changing the relationship between brands and clients. We spend most of these micro-moments through the Internet. According to Google, there are four types of “Micro Moments”     (1) I Want To Know Moments When someone is exploring, but is not in purchase mode.   (2) I Want To Go Moments When someone is considering buying a product at local store.   (3) I Want To Do Moments When someone needs help finishing a task or wants to do something new.   (4) I Want To Buy Moments When someone is ready to buy, and may need help.     All these micro-moments represent chances for brands to engage with the clients. Brands can make this experience great just by giving the right information at the right time.   30,000 Decisions Every Day    Micro-moments, micro-experiences mean micro-decisions. We make more than 30,000 micro-decisions a day. It means we have too much...
